"The best way to decide if you want to board your pet at Big Oaks is to pay us a visit.

Walk freely about our grounds and facilities and experience Central Texas' most transparent kennel. The best way to decide if you want to bring your pet back is to watch the reaction upon your return."

We operate like a hotel, charging by the night.
Our weekday check-in is 3-6 PM and check out is 7:30 - 11:00 AM.
You may check-in during our morning hours or check-out during the afternoon hours
for an extra day care fee of $15 per dog.
Out weekend check-in and check-out is between 10-12 AM Saturday and 4-6 PM Sunday.

  • We require all dogs to be up-to-date with Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella at least five (5) days prior to their arrival at Big Oaks, and certificates must be presented at check-in.  If you are in a bind, we sell the nasal Bordetella, but it must be given 72 hours prior.

  • We also require all our guests to be on a monthly flea & tick program.  Any guests found with fleas or other external parasites will be treated by over-the-counter medications at the customer's expense.

  • Please bring your pet's food in baggies for each meal.   We are happy (within reason) to mix foods, provide your treats and administer medications at no additional charge.

  • Please leash your dog before exiting your vehicle and you may meet us in the office or parking lot (if social distancing is required.)

  • A deposit is required for all bookings.

  • No shows are charged 1 night of boarding.  Early checkouts or cancellations without 48 hours notice are charged 1 night of boarding.  Holiday cancellations are per the cancellation date given at time of reservation.

The Tradition

This popular facility provides spacious indoor/outdoor, heated and air conditioned quarters for medium and large dogs requiring a more private setting. Each 4 x 18 indoor/outdoor space is furnished with a pallet or Karunda bed for naps and night time slumber, privacy walls, insulated guillotine doors, and a state of the art HVAC system.   Your pet's quarters front on one of four yards with plenty of shade and a water feature for the warmer months. Social guests are rotated into play yards 4X a day to play with other dogs.

The cottage

We listened for 18 years ....... then built the Cottage for the most discriminating small dog owner.  This 2,200 square foot facility will cause you to want to move in yourself (we live in an old house!)   Roomy 3 x 6 enclosures ring a 600 square foot indoor play area. Your furry will play, loaf and sleep in air conditioned comfort beneath ceiling fans, six skylights and a twelve foot high cathedral ceiling.  Come see us between 10:00-10:45 am or 3:30-5:30 pm, Monday - Friday.  Of course, plenty of green grass and sunshine too!

The Farm

The Farm is the right choice for your fun-loving, high energy, medium or large size dog.  Sporting 18' long, climate controlled quarters that are warmed in the winter by gas fired radiant tube heaters and cooled in the summer by high pressure, oscillating misting fans, your pet would probably be content to never leave its personal quarters, if it weren't for having immediate access to a 3,000 square foot play yard and our 3-acre Dog Park, 4X times a day.  Central Texas's  greenest and healthiest boarding option for active dogs.
